The city of Almere is always looking for the next step in tree management for its fast growing and tree-packed city. That’s why they were eager to start a pilot with TreeTracker. The results were presented today to the project team.
Almere selected the neighbourhood of Filmwijk as the pilot area. So of course we had to make a movie of the results. No cliff hangers here: we were able to detect and separate every tree and take accurate measurements.
We used these measurements for the Eco Impact Report and found out that the trees in Hollywoodlaan alone, are able to capture almost 2.000 kg of carbon each year!
The city of Almere is very pleased with the results and wants to make a sequel to this successful pilot episode.
